Tony Girolo

Tony Girolo loves trying to capture the beauty and complexity of the human form in drawings and paintings. He tends to approach the figure form a somewhat classical perspective, emphasizing form and restraint over intuition and expression. This is not in an effort to evoke nostalgia of the past grandeur of the figurative art, but rather, in the pursuit of a kind of radical honesty and dialogue with his perceptions.

Tony obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree from The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and has studied and taught nationally and internationally. He currently resides in San Luis Obispo, California.
